Fusing bop, swing, soul and latin, from Dave Brubeck to Thelonius Monk, Sergio Mendes to Django Reinhardt, MNO draws from a wide array of influences; as is evidenced by their takes on some of their favorite tunes that pepper their set amongst their staggeringly complex, yet enjoyably memorable, originals.
Their live show is a sight to behold; featuring multi-instrumentalists, a bevy of accomplished vocalists, and a classic charm that’s both revivalist and invigorating. The only live burlesque band in Denver, Minor Note Orchestra often accompanies the sultry ladies of Ooh La La Presents and Harlequin Aces Entertainment and holds weekly residencies at 3 Kings Tavern and El Charrito.
One of the hardest working bands in Denver, they strive to reach as many people as possible. Along with an incessant gigging schedule that’s brought them around the Rocky Mountain, Southwest and West Coast regions and to events at the Underground Music Showcase, the Boettcher House and the legendary El Chapultapec, Minor Note Orchestra repeatedly return to the studio to build upon their ever-growing Crime Jazz series.
